“I did not beat Iraj”; Yoshitha

PM’s Chief of Staff Yoshitha Rajapaksa says that he did not beat singer and music producer Iraj Weeraratne as some social media reports indicated.

Giving a statement on the matter to Daily Mirror website Rajapaksa said that such reports are completely false.

“I did not beat Iraj. He is not my close friend either. We met at a function months ago and that is the last time I saw him,” Rajapaksa claimed.

Reports circulated on social media during past few days that Yoshitha had allegedly beat Iraj Weeraratne and that was the actual reason behind the latter’s sudden resignation from the Director Board of National Youth Services Council.
