Curfew extended till 13 September

The quarantine curfew which is in effect currently has been extended by a week till 13 September.

The curfews was set to be lifted at 4.00 a.m. on 6 September. However, during the COVID-19 Presidential Task Force meeting held this morning, it was decided to extend the curfew by another week.

Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella tweeted,

“Lockdown will continue for another 7 day period till (13/09). Recommendations determine that progress will be made via the ongoing Vaccination Drive in the interim to curb the current spike. Please adhere to the regulations, use this time to get vaccinated, & wear a mask”,
