Cabraal to take up CBSL Governor post on request of Prez

Money, Capital Market and State Enterprises Reform State Minister Ajith Nivard Cabraal said that he would take up the CBSL Governor’s post on the invitation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Daily Mirror reported.

Accordingly, the President has invited Cabraal to take up the post as the country is currently suffering from a massive economic crisis.

Cabraal said that he would make a farewell speech in Parliament before resigning.

He has been requested to nominate a suitable person for the vacant parliamentary seat.

It is reported that Yoshitha Rajapaksa, Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera and Jayantha Ketagoda’s names have been nominated for the vacant seat.

Cabraal held the CBSL Governor’s post from 2009 to January 2015.
