Jeevan Thiagarajah sworn in as Northern Province Governor

Former member of the Election Commission of Sri Lanka Jeevan Thiagarajah sworn in as the Governor of Northern Province before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat today (11), Presidential Media Division (PMD) said.

Thiagirajah was appointed as the Northern Governor last week by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. He was required to resign from the EC member post if he was to take the Northern Governor post. Thiagirajah resigned from the EC member post accordingly.

Jeevan Thiagarajah was appointed as a member of the Election Commission in December last year.

Thiagarajah had earlier served as the head of the Consortium of Humanitarian Agencies (CHA).
