Gnanasara Thera to head ‘One Country, One Law’ Presidential Task Force

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera as the Chairperson of newly formed Presidential Task Force for One Country, One Law.

The gazette notification (2251/30) was issued yesterday (26) by virtue of the powers vested in the President.

Thirteen members including Ven. Gnanasara Thera, Prof. Dayananda Banda Esquire, Prof. Shanthinandana Wijesinghe, Prof. Sumedha Siriwardana, N.G. Sujeewa Panditharathna, Iresh Senevirathne, Attorney at Law Sanjaya Marambe, Attorney at Law Eranda Navarathna, Pani Wewala, Moulavi Mohomad of Ulama Council, Galle, Mohomad Inthikab Lecturer, Kaleel Rahuman and Azeez Nizardeen were appinted as the members of the Task Force.

President’s Senior Assistant Secretary Jeevanthie Senanayake has been appointed as the Secretary of theTask Force.

The President authorizes the Presidential Task Force to make such inquiries and issue such instructions as required for the purpose of executing the tasks so entrusted.

Furthermore, the President directed the Task Force members to submit reports to him at least once a month and submit the final report on or before 28 February 2022.
