Ven. Mahinda Sangharakkhitha Thera appointed UoK Chancellor

Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara and Head of the Buddhist and Pali Faculty of the University of Kelaniya, Venerable Professor Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkhitha Thera has been appointed as the Chancellor of University of Kelaniya

It is reported that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has made the appointment today (5).

Ven. Thera’s conduct became controversial during Presidential Election 2019, when he chaimed a person named Udara recovered relics arrived from Naga world from the bottom of Kelani Rover.

The media that backed then SLPP candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa gave a wide publicity to the Thera’s claim.
