Fertiliser Fiasco: Permission granted to import ‘plant nutrients’ including urea

Permission has been granted to import high quality ‘plant nutrients’ including urea again, the Ministry of Agriculture announced this morning (22).

Secretary to the Ministry Prof. Udith Jayasinghe said that the decision was reached to promote food security in the country amidst extreme weather conditions.

He said that the decision will also be followed a risk management plan by a team of agronomists and experts submitted to president Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
