Grade one classes to start in April 2022

Education Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said that academic activities of grade one classes in schools will begin in April 2022.

Speaking to the media in Kandy, Gunawardena said that circulars with regard to the admissions have been already issued.

School holdiday will begin on 23 December and they will be reopened for academic activities on 3 January 2022. The first term of schools will be continued from January 2022 to April.

Meanwhile, the Grade Five Scholarship examination will be held in the third week of January next year, the Minister said and added that G.C.E Advanced Level and Ordinary Level Examinations will be held in February and May 2022 respectively.
