Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery which was temporary closed due to shortage of crude oil would be opened on 26 January, the Ministry of Energy said.
The shortage of crude oil was occurred as a result of on-going forex crisis in Sri Lanka.
According to the Energy Ministry Secretary, new stock of crude oil will be arrived in the country on 23 January. Therefore, the operations of the oil refinery will be resumed on 26 January, she said.
The oil refinery was closed on 3 January for the second time due to shortage of crude oil.
