Gammanpila to resign today?

Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila might resign from the post today (08).

It is reported that he would deliver special statement in Parliament. The reason behind the resignation is the criticisms at him levelled by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and a group of MPs, during government MPs’ meeting yesterday.

Gammanpila on Sunday (6) said that the current dollar shortage in the country caused by obtaining loans continuously, not Covid-19 pandemic.

The government MPs have severely criticized this statement and the President too, has refused Gammanpila’s claim during the.meeting this evening.
