It has been planned to distribute 70,000 goats among unemployed rural youth, Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said.
At a meeting the minister said it is expected to allocate Rs 150 million for this goat farming project.
Amaraweera said this project is a solution for unemployment among rural youth. Also, many products manufactured through goat farming are being imported because Sri Lanka does not have proper goat farming projects.
