Train services on 11 September are expected to face disruptions due to a trade union action initiated by railway yard workers in the Colombo district.
Trains departing from affected railway yards will remain non-operational until a resolution is reached, as reported by Ada Derana.
Additionally, the Locomotive Engineers’ Union is planning to commence a strike on 12 September, citing several demands, including long-delayed amendments to the recruitment and promotion processes, which have been repeatedly requested for nearly five years.
