Two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle opened fire at a three-wheeler, resulting in the injury of a child this evening (17), near the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court.
Regrettably, the six-year-old girl, who sustained injuries in the aforementioned shooting incident tragically passed away after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
The assailants, arriving on a motorcycle, discharged their firearms at the three-wheeler before swiftly departing from the scene, according to police reports.
Maradana Police have initiated an investigation into the shooting incident.
The Police suspect that the intended target of the assailants may have been the father of the deceased child.
