The STF has apprehended three individuals in connection with the shooting incident near the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court last month, during which a 6-year-old girl lost her life and her father sustained injuries.
Acting on a tip-off, the suspects were taken into custody while traveling in a vehicle in the Sedawatta area. Subsequently, the STF discovered the abandoned car at a housing complex in Obeysekarapura, Rajagiriya, and arrested the three suspects, who were believed to have assisted the shooters.
The tragic shooting occurred on September 17 as the father and daughter were leaving the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court premises following their participation in court proceedings related to a case. It was determined that the father was the intended target of the assailants.
The apprehended suspects, identified as Adam Lebbe, Mohammad Minhaj, and Seyyadu Izhak Mansoor, with ages ranging from 36 to 65, have been handed over to the Welikada Police for further investigations.
