Former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa paid a visit to the Palestinian Embassy in Colombo today (16).
His visit aimed to express solidarity with the Palestinian people during the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.
In conversations with the Palestinian Ambassador, Rajapaksa emphasized the absolute necessity of rejecting terrorism on a global scale and highlighted that warfare could not provide a lasting solution.
Moreover, Rajapaksa underlined the significance of peaceful negotiations in resolving these conflicts. Drawing from Sri Lanka’s own history with conflict, he emphasized that peace is of utmost importance and holds the promise of a brighter future for the citizens of both nations.
