Mount Lavinia Additional Magistrate Sanjaya L.M. Wijesinghe rejected the bail application submitted by former Senior DIG Ravi Seneviratne, who had been in custody for driving under the influence of alcohol and causing damage to two other vehicles.
Seneviratne filed the bail application via a special motion.
The retired Senior DIG was apprehended by the Wellawatta police after causing damage to two parked vehicles in front of a hotel on Muhudu Mawatha in Wellawatta around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday (29).
A breathalyzer test confirmed that he was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
