SJB MP Rauff Hakeem said today (25), Sri Lankan employees who are sent to Israel are given military training.

He told parliament that, Sri Lankan employees are placed in plots of lands that Israel has forcibly acquired from Palestinians.

However, Minister of Labour Manusha Nanayakkara denied these allegations stating “No military training is provided for Sri Lankan expatriates.”

He also emphasized that the Sri Lankan government adheres to a non-aligned foreign policy to sustain relations with Israel.

Minister Nanayakkara further stated that instead of intervening to this matter as a country, such irresponsible statements should not be made in the parliament for the sake of gaining votes.
