Fox Hill accident claims eighth life

A schoolgirl, critically injured in the tragic accident during the recent ‘Fox Hill Super Cross 2024’ motorsport racing championship at Diyatalawa, has succumbed to her injuries.

Sathdarani Kavishka, aged 16 and a resident of Galedanda area in the Diyatalawa police area, passed away while receiving treatment at the Badulla General Hospital on the night of 15 May.

She had been receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of the hospital. The body of Sathdarani Kavishka has been placed at the Badulla General Hospital.

The tragic accident, which occurred on April 21, claimed the lives of seven others, including four race officials who were stationed as flag marshals, and spectators of the event. The incident left 23 others injured.
