A suspect with close connections to ISIS terrorists of Sri Lankan origin, recently apprehended at Ahmedabad International Airport in India, has been arrested by the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) of Sri Lanka Police. The suspect is alleged to have assisted the four terrorists in obtaining air tickets, facilitating their travel.

Further investigations are ongoing to determine if more ISIS terrorists from Sri Lanka have traveled to India. The Sri Lanka Police are intensifying their efforts to uncover any additional links and prevent further terrorist activities.

On 19 May, the anti-terrorist squad of Gujarat, India, arrested four Sri Lankan nationals at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The suspects, identified as Mohammad Nusrat (33), Mohammad Farish (35), Mohammad Nafran (27), and Mohammad Rashdeen (43), were found to be members of the terrorist organization ISIS.

According to Indian authorities, interrogations revealed that the suspects were planning a terror attack in India. Following this development, Sri Lankan police, including the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), TID, and intelligence agencies, have launched a joint investigation into the activities of the four ISIS members from Sri Lanka.
