Police have launched an investigation following the death of four individuals after allegedly consuming illicit liquor in Vihara Junction, Dambulla.
Villagers reported that two individuals died two days ago and two more succumbed today after consuming the same alcohol. Suspects involved in the illicit liquor trade have been previously arrested and sentenced.
The residents face ongoing issues due to this long-standing racket. Authorities are awaiting post-mortem and forensic reports to determine the exact cause of death. Dambulla Police continue to investigate.
