Senior Additional Solicitor General Parinda Ranasinghe (Jr) is set to be appointed as the Acting Attorney General of Sri Lanka. He will be sworn in before the Chief Justice tomorrow, 1 July
Parinda Ranasinghe is the son of the 38th Chief Justice of Sri Lanka, Parinda Ranasinghe Sr.
Ranasinghe’s appointment as the Acting Attorney General follows the rejection of the proposal to extend the term of the current Attorney General, Sanjay Rajaratnam, by another six months during last week’s Constitutional Council meeting.
