The Supreme Court today ordered former President Maithripala Sirisena to pay the remaining compensation to the victims of the Easter Sunday attacks before 30 August.
Sirisena informed the court that he has already paid Rs. 58 million out of the Rs. 100 million ordered as compensation.
Despite his request for an additional six years to settle the remaining amount, the court ordered him to pay the remaining amount of compensation before 30 August.
