A 45-day-old infant from Jaffna has tragically passed away due to head injuries.
The Tellippalai Police saidthat the child’s mother had taken the male infant to Alavetti Provincial Hospital, claiming he had fallen unconscious after breastfeeding.
The infant was subsequently transferred to Tellippalai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A postmortem revealed that the infant had died from head injuries.
The Tellippalai Police have arrested the mother in connection with the infant’s death.
