R.M.A.L. Rathnayake, Chairman of the Election Commission, announced that all election campaign offices at the electorate level must be dismantled after midnight today.
During a press conference, he emphasized that only one office per election division or district is permitted going forward.
“Failure to comply will result in police intervention to remove these offices,” Rathnayake stated.
He also clarified that while candidates may use their residences as campaign offices, any materials must be cleared if located within 500 meters of polling centers by voting day on 21 September.
